Picture the scene: it is 1972 and Gary Turner [a.k.a. Mr GT] has a kid who is big into BMX racing, but Gary has got beef with the bikes on offer for the young whippersnapper racers - in his view, they just aren’t durable enough. So, using his experience of welding drag racing cars, he builds the first GT frame, and it goes down a storm.
Fast forward through the years and GT aren’t only innovating in BMXs, but also hardtail and downhill mountain bikes, as well as road bikes (including their infamous 90s ‘Superbike’ which was banned by the Olympics for being “too fast”).
All this exciting heritage, plus the company’s focus on making the most reliable but innovative frames and bikes and their ongoing R&D to achieve this means that GT is a great option for riders looking for a bike which will have you grinning from ear to ear from the sheer pleasure of riding it.
