Description

Description

The Exposure TraceR certainly isn’t the cheapest rear light out there but, despite having a slightly punchy price tag, we would still class it as one of the best value for money lights on the market - what you get for your money is a high quality, British made light which uses high end materials and components in its construction and which has a highly user-oriented design which will not disappoint in terms of its ease of use, performance and durability.

The light is incredibly compact and weighs just 35g (you can see in the video above just how tiny it is). If it was just looks you were interested in, this is one super cute light, with an attractive mini flashlight type shape and flashy red anodized CNC-machined aluminium. However, more importantly, it works really well too - it offers a substantial 75 lumens of brightness which can be seen well from the side as well as from behind thanks to its deep lens.

The TraceR has three levels of brightness and can be set to be on constantly or to pulse (on the pulse setting the light is on constantly but pulses with additional brightness) - switching between modes is simple, using a single button. Battery life is decent (up to 24 hours if you’re using the pulse mode) so you shouldn’t need to charge the light too often, and charging is via an included USB cable. The TraceR also uses Exposure’s ‘Fuel Gauge’ technology, which uses a traffic light system to show available battery power, so you can easily plan when you need to charge the light.

I've had the front Tracer for months so had to get this one when my Cateye gave out. It's a brilliant example of engineering, tough, simple, bright and with a great battery level indicator. Highly recommended.
